Welcome to our family website.
I created barfety.com mainly for the purpose of keeping my family in France and Andi's family in Washington DC and Florida updated after we had our children, Camille and Gabe. With the advances of blogging technology, it evolved into a journal, a place to write down my thoughts and a video repository. The videos started out low quality as I'm still taking videos with my first digital camera bought when Gabe was born in 2001, but will eventually mature when I dive into high definition.
I was born and raised in France from 1969 to 1987. At 17, I decided to leave the old continent for the United States in search of the American Dream. I attended Shawnee Heights High School for my last year of High School and graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. At age 24, a young man I barely knew put his hand on my shoulder in a grocery store aisle and, while raising his other hand towards the bright fluorescent lights, prayed that God would make himself known to me as the only way, the truth and the life. Shortly after, I met my future wife Andi. God drew me to himself and I asked him to forgive my past shortcomings. With His grace came salvation and with salvation came a new hope and direction for my life. Those who knew me, knew me no longer. I had been blind and suddenly I could see. I had found more than an American dream in the Creator of all things.
Studying who God is has been a big part of my life since 1995.
Enjoy the posts! You'll find everything from the day I became a US Citizen, fixing the exhaust on my car, playing with the kids at the pool to Bodybuilding and more.

My Worldview:
A worldview consists of what we believe about the most important subjects in life. Picture a web with at the center your most important beliefs (the existence of God, Jesus walked on water, kindness is a virtue, moral absolutes, etc...). The outer layers and the further you go outward, would be things you believe in but that are not as detrimental as your core beliefs. The writings found under the label philosophy on this site reflect part of my worldview. I started writing a new blog called Willed Induction. It is a repository for my thoughts, beliefs and writings.
My work:
I've always thought sales would be an interesting field. You move around, you meet people, you're compensated based on how much work you put in. I was looking for something I could sell with a passion, a product I believed in. Over the years I had owned a dozen Volkswagens and it made sense. I love what I do and I'm definitely learning about selling, which I'd rather call "helping people buy."
